Home Made Taco Seasoning

This is a money saving recipe for sure, however, it is a good way to make a taco seasoning that you can adjust to your family's heat preference.

A packet of taco seasoning can cost about $1, that doesn't seem like much, however, add several of these $1 packets into the grocery cart and the bill starts to add up. Especially considering that you most likely have all these seasonings in your pantry.

There are a few reasons why you would want DIY Taco Seasoning-

1. you can adjust the sodium
2. you can cut out all the chemicals, preservatives
3. you can make a big batch and store in a glass container in your pantry, ready to go
4. you can adjust to your family taste preference

Home Made Taco Seasoning

1 Tablespoon Chili Powder
1 1/2 Teaspoons ground Cumin
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
 1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon pepper

Combine the spices together in a bowl.  Add to your cooked ground meat as needed. One recipe will make enough seasoning for 1 1/2 lbs of ground meat.

On our Maiden journey! The majestic Aria and her owners are on the maiden voyage! Having lot's of fun and learning a lot! I have driven from Mesa, Arizona to Eugene, Oregon, towing our new Jeep Wrangler. White knuckled in the beginning, now driving with one hand, except when the big trucks pass by!!

We are staying the next couple days at our daughter and son-in-laws beautiful home. Our grandson's birthday party is tomorrow and two of our son's and their families are here too! We will depart to our home in a few days, stopping along the way at the famous Woodburn Outlet Mall. Lot's of fun with family!

  1. Thanks! We made up a bag of this and used some of it last night. It is better than store bought! Jill
