Anti Inflammatory Pineapple Pain Relief

I want to start off the New Year with a healthy drink that has changed my life in the last month. Sparing you the details, I have arthritis in my neck. Basically, it affected my quality of life having been a very active person. After a lot of different tests, physical therapy, chiropractor, acupuncture, manipulations on and on.....a friend and fellow hiker gave me this recipe. He told me that he has been on this for one year. Prior to using this juice he could not open a jar! His testimonial was when he went on holiday to Australia for a month and was not able to juice, his arthritis came back. The original recipe comes from a woman with MS, who was able to relieve her symptoms.

My neck pain is gone and only comes back briefly when I have a big day of snowmobiling or ATV-ing.  I then take a ibuprofen, and the pain goes away. Prior to juicing, I could not control the pain with ibuprofen at any time. This an anti-inflammatory winner is also good for menstrual pain.

Use a juicer or a Vitamix, drink it with pulp or without. My friends drink with the pulp, the hubster and I drink it without the pulp. I use a Breville juicer, my friends use a Vitamix. I think this could be made in a Bullit as well.

Pineapple Pain Relief

Ingredients

10 celery stalks (or a whole stalk of celery even if less than 10 stalks)
1 fennel bulb
1 small pineapple—peeled and cut into chunks
2-inch piece of ginger root
1 apple (optional) adds sweetness

Process all ingredients in a juicer or Vitamix. Chill. Remember to stir before pouring your daily serving.

We take about 6 ounces every day. It takes about a week for one person to deplete a single batch.

It takes about 7-14 days before you will find some relief.

Store the juice in a large pitcher and refrigerate. You will need to stir it everyday before pouring as it separates.

It has been another year of growth for Sew whats cooking with Joan. With the introduction of the Instant Pot and a whole new section added to the Master Recipe List, came about 10,000 new followers and growing! When I post a recipe using the IP, I can and have gotten over 1500 hits in a few hours. Most of the hits come from four Facebook Instant Pot  communities I post the recipe on. Some of these Instant Pot enthusiasts (Pot heads) have opted to follow my blog. It has been fun for me to convert old recipes to the IP and I will continue to do so.

In 2018 you can expect to see more IP recipes and some healthy recipes for those who have made some New Years resolutions as well as crafts, sewing/quilting, travel and conventional cooking/baking recipes.

As 2018 begins I am thinking of all of my followers who have written such lovely e-mails, taken the time to comment and who have not only read my recipes, but implemented them into their family meals. I am humbled by a lot of the comments, but, admittedly your input inspires me to continue.

Once again, Sew whats cooking with Joan, has done better than my best expectations and would not grow without you, my followers. Thank you!

Happy New Year!
